Burkina Faso has appointed Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo as its new prime minister following the dismissal of Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambela. Ouedraogo’s appointment, announced on Saturday, comes after President Capt. Ibrahim Traore issued a decree removing Kyelem de Tambela from office on Friday.
Matias Traore, the government’s general secretary, confirmed the change, stating that Ouedraogo is now responsible for assembling a new government. The aim is to ensure the continuity of government operations, which are currently being managed by the dissolved administration.
Ouedraogo, a seasoned journalist and news anchor, previously served as Burkina Faso’s Minister of State for Communications. His appointment signals a new phase for the country’s leadership as it navigates political challenges.
