The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD) in its determination to live up to its name and further its impact, is today now in The Gambia. It shall herald it’s programming in the country by making a public presentation of its research report titled “West African Regional Laws and Policies on Natural Resource Governance: Lessons and Policy Recommendations for Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and The Gambia.”
The event which is twofold, public presentation and a policy dialogue will take place on Friday, November 1st, 2024, 10.00 – 13.00 GMT in Bakau, The Gambia.
Expected at the event are representatives of Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs), civil society organizations, media, and regional actors in the natural resource governance space.
Discussions will focus on findings and policy recommendations for The Gambia and other countries in West Africa, to promote adherence to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) standards, including implementing health and safety standards, and addressing community and gender-related impacts of extractive activities across the region.
The event marks a major milestone for Centre LSD, being the official expansion of its operations into The Gambia.
Centre LSD will roll out its leadership training, strategy development, and other development programs to empower institutions, individuals, and communities across the country.
