Centre LSD shuts offices in solidarity with Nigerians

The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy, and Development (Centre LSD) announces the closure of its offices nationwide on August 1, 2024, in solidarity with protesting Nigerians.

The #EndBadGovernance protest, scheduled for August 1, 2024, to August 10, 2024, aims to draw the government’s urgent attention to the plight of the people and demand meaningful actions to alleviate their suffering beyond mere rhetoric.

The nongovernmental organization noted that Nigeria is currently facing one of its most challenging periods, with economic policies that have led to widespread hunger and hardship among its citizens.

Lamenting the security situation in the country, the organization stated: “The insecurity in various parts of the country has further exacerbated the situation, making daily life a struggle for many Nigerians.”

A press release, signed by the Executive Director, Monday Osasah, stated that as an organization committed to working with forces of positive change to empower citizens to transform society, Centre LSD stands in solidarity with the Nigerian people to demand better governance and improved living conditions.

“By closing our offices, we demonstrate our commitment to the cause and encourage others to join the protest and demand action from the government,” the statement said.
