Chrisland University appoints new Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has announced the appointment of Prof. Arulogun Oyedunni as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor.

This is contained in a statement in Abeokuta on Friday, by the Registrar of the institution, Mr Samuel Omotoso.

According to the statement, the appointment takes effect from Friday, Nov. 1

It said that the  significant appointment followed a rigorous and transparent selection process, as stipulated by the Chrisland University Law, Section 4 (3).

”In accordance with the requirements of the University Law, the Governing Council established a Joint Council and Senate Selection Board to oversee the selection process.

”This board diligently reviewed the qualifications and experience of shortlisted candidates, who were carefully selected based on an examination of their curriculum vitae and thorough interaction.

”The selection board recommended three distinguished candidates to the Board of Trustees for final consideration, as required by Section 4 (2) of the University Law.

”After thorough deliberation, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees has approved one of the recommended candidates, Arulogun Oyedunni,” the statement said.

Oyedunni, according to the statement, is a Professor of Health Promotion and Education, in the Department of Health Promotion and Education, Faculty of Public Health, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.

It stated that the  59-year-old appointee obtained a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Special Education, at University of Ibadan (1987); M.Ed Special Education, University of Ibadan (1989); and a Master of Public Health, University of Ibadan (1992).

”She equally bagged a Ph.D in Health Education from University of Ibadan (1998),” the statement said.

THE TRUTH reports that the new vice-chancellor succeeds Prof. Chinedum Babalola, who retired on Thursday.
