The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Ifeanyi Okowa, the immediate past governor of the oil-rich Delta state.
Okowa, THE CONCLAVE reports, is being detained the EFCC’s Port Harcourt Zonal office.
This was consequent upon allegations of fraud and the misappropriation of state funds during his tenure as governor.
Reports said that Okowa was undergoing interrogation by EFCC officials regarding claims of financial irregularities linked to the management of resources.
Okowa, who served as governor from May 2015 to May 2021, played a pivotal role in the development initiatives across Delta State, focusing on infrastructure and social programmes.
