A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Friday sentenced a 35-year-old farmer, Muhammed Rabiu to two years imprisonment for stealing a water pump machine from a farm.
Magistrate Shawomi Bokkos sentenced Rabiu following his guilty plea.
Bokkos however,gave the convict an option to pay N50,000 as fine.
She also ordered the convict to N200,000 as compensation to the complainant.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat told the court that the case was reported at the “B” Division Police Station on Feb..11 by Malam Surajo Umar, the complainant.
Gokwat said the convict stole the water pump worth N225,000 from Umar’s farm.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 286(1) of the Penal Code.
