The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Ambassador Nicholas Ella on Wednesday 9th October, 2024 inaugurated a Technical Working Group (TWG) comprising representatives of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria and National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP) to enhance gas reticulation practices in Nigeria’s building industry.
He charged the TWG to design a policy for the implementation of best practices for gas reticulation in the Building industry, review the National Building Code as it relates to gas, examine global gas distribution systems, and propose quality standards for materials used in gas installations.
At the inauguration, the Chairman of Council, Bldr. Samson A. Opaluwah expressed the Council’s willingness and resolve to ensure the TWG fulfills the purpose for which it was established.
He noted that the Council is committed to working with other organizations and agencies towards creating a safer, more efficient, and more sustainable future for buildings and residential estates.
The TWG, which has commenced its work is due to submit its report on November 15, 2024.
