Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, has congratulated the former Head of State, retired Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, on his 83rd birthday anniversary.
This is contained in a congratulatory message by Mr Gyang Bere, the Director of Press and Public Affairs (DOPPA) to the governor, issued on Saturday in Jos.
The governor described the former head of state as a revered statesman and national icon, whose contributions had shaped the trajectory of Nigeria.
Acknowledging Babangida’s far-reaching influence on the nation through various transformative interventions, Mutfwang said that the former leader left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history.
”Babangida’s unwavering dedication and commitment to Nigeria’s unity is exemplified by his military service and enduring political engagement.
”His life has continued to inspire countless Nigerians, particularly through his philanthropic efforts, which have significantly improved healthcare, education and economic empowerment, particularly for underprivileged persons.
”On behalf of my family, the government and the people of Plateau, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating our leader on the remarkable occasion of his birthday.
”We wish him continued happiness, good health and prosperity in the years ahead,”he said.
Mutfwang called on Babangida to continue to share his wealth of knowledge with the current leaders through advocacy for peace and unity in the country.
