The Management of the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA) has welcomed the Chairman, Senate Committee on Mines and Steel Development, Senator Tanko Almakura and his team who are on courtesy visit to the Agency.
Director General of the NGSA, Dr Abdulrazaq Garba who led the Management to welcome the team expressed delight in the presence of the lawmaker, stating that the over one-hundred-year old Agency is currently focusing on mineral discovery through the National Integrated Mineral Exploration Project, NIMEP, as well as Research and Development in order to significantly contribute to ongoing efforts of government to diversify the Nigerian economy.
The Director General, who described the NGSA as the “bastion of geosciences data generation in the country,” said it will work to create an enabling environment for a flourishing mining sector in the country.
Senator Almakura and his team will be conducted around some facilities of the NGSA.
