I have no plans to start a church after retirement – Oyedepo’s deputy, Aremu

Bishop Thomas Aremu

The Vice President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Bishop Thomas Aremu, has announced that he has no intention of establishing his own church after retirement.

Instead, he plans to remain with the ministry that has shaped his life for over four decades.

Aremu and Bishop David Abioye, who were the Vice Presidents of Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of the church, would retire after serving for over three and four decades respectively.

During his Valedictory Service at the Living Faith Church, Orita Bashorun, Ibadan, on Tuesday, Aremu reflected on his journey since 1983, expressing gratitude for the spiritual guidance he received from Bishop David Oyedepo, the church’s founder.

He said, “I don’t have a church, and I cannot have a church because God has not infused me with the capacity to do so. This is my church.

“Even after retirement, I shall remain in the Winners family. I may be privileged to bless other churches other than Winners, but there is nothing I am going to teach them also than what I have learnt in Winners.

“God planted me in this commission, and I am convinced this is where I belong,” he stated.

Aremu emphasised that while he might assist other churches, he would share only the teachings he had learned at Winners Chapel.

He also plans to document the lessons and virtues he has gained to inspire future generations.

Committed to charity, he expressed a desire to support the needy, widows, orphans, and fatherless.

The service was attended by Bishop Oyedepo, his wife Faith, Bishop Abioye, and representatives from the Oyo State Government, celebrating Aremu’s decades of service.
