The 2023 Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has promised to give priority attention to securing lives and property of Benue people.
Fr. Alia made this known while addressing large number of people on Sunday at RCM Primary School Jato-Aka, Turan, Kwande Local government area of Benue State.
The APC governorship candidate visited the ancestral home of the Tiv people for a thanksgiving Mass put together in his honour by members of APC from Turan and Ikurav-ya.
While addressing the people, Fr. Alia said he is well aware of the predicaments of the Kwande People and he would do everything within the confines of the law to address them.
He emphasised the need for a perfect connect at the national level to drag home the most desired dividends of democracy, calling on Benue people to vote Bola Ahmed Tinubu for president, saying such is necessary as it will facilitate easy delivery on his Campaign promises.
Also speaking, the Chairman of APC in Benue State, Comrade Austin Agada decried the poor leadership of PDP in the state, pointing out killings by herdsmen, salary drought, lack of pension, deplorable infrastructure and unemployment as legacies left behind by the umbrella party and called on the people to vote APC for redemption and liberation.
He assured thousands of PDP members who defected to the APC today of fair and equal treatment, applauding their wise decision of leaving their previous party to join force with the winning party.
Preaching in the thanksgiving mass that also marks the solemnity of Christ the King, the Episcopal Vicar for the Deanery, Rev. Fr. Linus Huabo summons the congregants to strive to have a distinctly christian perspective of leadership, adding that greatness in leadership is not defined by how many you have beneath you, but how consistently and significantly you are led by the Holy Spirit to make personal sacrifices to serve the true needs of others.
He warned the people against featuring in the league of insults and snide remarks that characterize politics, saying leadership is from God and if God wills that someone becomes a leader, no amount of vituperations and insults would stop it and vice versa.
The event attracted top dignitaries including the DG, Alia/Ode Campaign Organization, Rev Fredrick Ikyaan, Hon. Barr. Emmanuel Memga Udende, Hon. Terrumun Akputu, Hon. Silas Akosu, Hon. Nick Wende, and Hon. Mrs Dorathy Mato.
