Islamic Jihad spokesman sets conditions for release of Israeli captives

Abu Hamza, the spokesperson for Al-Quds Brigades, the military arm of Islamic Jihad, has conveyed a message to Israel stipulating the terms for the release of Israeli prisoners held in the Gaza Strip.

In a video statement released on Telegram, Abu Hamza addressed the Israeli public, emphasizing that a halt to hostilities and a comprehensive prisoner exchange are essential precursors to the captives’ release.

He underscored the futility of Israel’s prolonged military campaign against the Palestinian resistance, citing recent operational successes, including:

  • The downing of 11 Israeli reconnaissance drones
  • Rocket attacks on Beersheba, Sderot, and Ashkelon

Abu Hamza’s statement underscores the necessity of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange for the release of Israeli captives, while cautioning Israel against persisting in its military aggression in Gaza.
