Jigawa Govt sets up consumer protection committee

 

Jigawa state Government has inaugurated a 12 member Consumer Protection Committee to checkmate adulteration.

The committee was inaugurated by the Commissioner of Commerce Cooperative and Tourism, Alhaji Aminu Kanta on Friday.

Babura said Governor Malam Umar Namadi mandated the Ministry to establish the committee to curtail adulteration in business activities across the state.

He said the move is in line with the present administration’s commitment to boost business activities in the state and promote understanding among buyers and sellers.

The commissioner urged members of the committee to fear God in the discharge of their duties, and commended the governor for approving the establishment of the committee.

The committee is headed by Umar Alhaji Bala, while Nasiru Muhammad will serve as a secretary.

Chairman of the Committee, Umar Alhaji Bala expressed appreciation to the government for the opportunity given to them and assured that they will do everything possible to actualize the government’s objectives.

He called on members of the committee to work diligently to achieve the desired goals.
