Dani Olmo is finally set for Barcelona debut as La Liga has given green light for the new signing’s registration
In what will come as a huge relief for FC Barcelona, new signing Dani Olmo is all set to make his debut tomorrow against Rayo Vallecano as La Liga has approved his registration.
This comes from Mundo Deportivo, who claimed that the league authorities were ready to authorise Barça to register Olmo for the long-term absence of Andreas Christensen, as they did recently with Inigo Martínez, taking advantage of the absence of Ronald Araujo
Barça had already generated some fair play with the departures of Clement Lenglet, Ilkay Gundogan, Mika Faye and Vitor Roque, but not enough to be able to register Olmo.
However, they will be able to do that now with the fair play generated by Christensen’s absence through injury.
As they did with Vitor Roque and Martinez using Gavi and Araujo’s absences in the past, Barcelona can now use 80% of Christensen’s salary to register Olmo, based on Article 77 of La Liga’s Economic Control Regulations.
However, the registration is said to valid only until December 31 and as such Barcelona must find an alternative to register Olmo once again in January.
