It was a great privilege to serve as the Distinguished Keynote Speaker at the Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge (DNIC) 2024, held on Thursday, 12th December at the e-Government Training Centre, Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Abuja. The impactful gathering of innovators, policymakers, industry leaders and changemakers aimed at tackling infrastructure challenges through cutting-edge digital solutions.
Speaking on LEVERAGING DATA FOR SOCIETAL CHANGE, I highlighted the transformative power of data-driven innovations in addressing Nigeria’s infrastructure and socio-economic challenges. As part of the conversations, I used NITDA Nigeria, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State., Solution Innovation District (SID), CypherCrescent Limited etc as models of how responsible and ethical utilisation of data can help improve lives, enhance service delivery and foster sustainable development goals.
The groundbreaking pitches by DNIC finalists, deep insights of the Judges, rich and engaging discussion by the participants and collaborative energy were truly inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to the Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI) and NITDA Nigeria for championing this vital initiative.
At the DNIC, I saw a bright future for the tech ecosystem and local content development in Nigeria. Kudos to Victoria Fabunmi, Ikechukwu Eze, Dejo Olawumi, ThankGod Egbe, Dr Odiong Akpan, Ubulu Africa and other ecosystem stakeholders for the highly energised patriotism of firing Nigeria up the global ladder of innovation.
