The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman, Hon. Christopher Maikalangu on Friday, June 28, 2024 flagged off the construction of Waru-Yimitu community road.

While thanking the AMAC Chairman for his magnanimity, the Hakimi of Waru Community, Ibrahim Angulu Sarki, emphasized the importance of the road, which will boost socio-economic development and increase the livelihood for a better life.

Speaking at the flag-off held at Waru Community, Apo, Maikalangu said, “The most expensive assignment in the Abuja Municipal Area Council is road construction, and he has taken it upon himself to do thorough research and discovered that what the indigenes of Abuja need is a good road; it is a road that will bring economic activities to our communities, he said.

“We are executing other projects such as rural electrification and water projects across the 12 wards, but I chose to be here today because I have listened to your cry and that is why I insist that this road must be constructed from Waru Junction to Yimitu. I want to once again thank the councillors of Abuja Municipal Area Council for this wonderful approval, he added.

The AMAC Chairman, however, called on the youth of Waru Community to cooperate with the road contractor as well as serve as his supervisors while the road construction is ongoing. He appealed and also thanked the elders of Waru Community for their patience, as executing these projects is not always easy as there are limited resources at hand for carrying out projects.
