In what has been described as a show of love that cut across various boundaries, the Management and Staff of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development have treated the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mary Ogbe to a surprise celebration of her birthday.
At the very successfully planned birthday celebration, which held at the Headquarters of the Ministry, on Monday 28th October, 2024, staffs noted that the surprise event was made possible by the huge goodwill of staffs, coupled with months of tactful preparation.
The event, which held at the Headquarters of the Ministry, encomium poured in for Dr, Mary Ogbe as members of staff took turns to commend her resourcefulness. They commended the Permanent Secretary for her humane disposition to the wellbeing of staffs.
They described Dr. Ogbe as an exemplary leader whose qualities and values are worthy of emulation.
Head, Press and Public Relations in the Ministry, Chinwe Ekwugha, who confirmed the development to THE TRUTH in Abuja, on Monday, said the staffs further commended Dr. Mary Ogbe for “her approachable nature and open-door policy,” a virtue, Ekwugha said helped to create a “welcoming and supportive atmosphere in the Ministry, fostering collaboration and trust among all.”
Ekwugha stated: “Staff noted her humility and genuine care, and they highlighted her kindness and the compassionate way she engages with everyone — treating each person with respect and empathy.”
According to Ekwugha, “Dr. Mary Ogbe was also described as loving and fair, balanced by a firm commitment to discipline that keeps the workforce focused and driven.”
“Her patience and tolerance further enhances her effectiveness as a leader, inspiring her team to strive for excellence.”
Prayers were offered for God’s continued guidance, blessings, and strength in her leadership of the ministry and her journey through life, Ekwugha said, adding that staffs have good hope that the Permanent Secretary’s legacy of integrity and dedication would resonate for years to come.
The highlight of the event was a special presentation ceremony in which the Management and Staff of the Ministry honored the Permanent Secretary with a beautiful birthday cake in appreciation of her contributions, leadership, and dedication to advancing the realization of the set goals of the ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
In her response, the elated Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Mary Ogbe said expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff for the thoughtful celebration, and for the kind words they showered on her to commemorate her birthday.
