The Nigerian union of Mines Workers (NUMW) has congratulated Hajia Fatima Umaru-Shinkafi on her reappointment as Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund (SMDF) and Managing Director of the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (PAGMI).
The Union also commended President Bola Tinubu for reappointing Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi to the high offices.
A statement from the NUMW, signed by its National President, Comrade Hamza Muhammad stated: “On behalf of the National Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Mine Workers, I extend warm congratulations to you on your reappointment as Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund.”
Hamza further described Shinkafi’s reappointment as “a testament to her “commitment and dedication to the growth and development of the mining sector in Nigeria.”
“We are excited about the prospects of your second term and the opportunities it presents for the mining sector.”
“We believe your leadership will continue to drive positive change and growth in the industry. As a key stakeholder in the mining sector, we request that your office engage all stakeholders, including the Nigeria Union of Mine Workers, to benefit from your positive programs.”
The Union said it is willing to work with the SMDF to realize set goals. “We are willing to participate in all your programs for the benefit of our members,” the statement said.
