Lebanon’s health ministry reported that one person was killed on Sunday in an Israeli strike targeting a vehicle in the country’s south.
The attack comes as Israel launched what it described as pre-emptive strikes against Hezbollah.
According to a statement by the health ministry, which was carried by the National News Agency (NNA), an “Israeli drone strike on a car in the village of Khiam” resulted in the death of one individual.
The Amal movement, an ally of Hezbollah, later confirmed that the deceased was a fighter from Khiam.
The ministry also noted that two people, including a Syrian national, were injured in “a series of Israeli raids” in southern Lebanon, as reported by the NNA.
