President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of six Executive Directors in two agencies under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, a statement from the State House has said.
The statement, which was signed by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity stated: “The appointees are Ms Vivian C. Richard Edet, Executive Director of Finance and Administration; Engr Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine and Operations; and Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar, Executive Director of Engineering and Technical Services of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).”
Three persons were appointed as directors at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). They are Mr Jibril Abba, Executive Director of Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services, Mr Chudi Offodile, Executive Director of Finance and Administration; and Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi, Executive Director of Operations (NIMASA).
According to Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President approved the appointments with the firm belief that the new appointees would expeditiously and efficiently execute their collective mandate to create the conditions required to significantly raise the contribution of the marine and blue economy sector to the nation’s GDP.
He said the President also expects the appointees to contribute to evolving the Nigerian economy into a labour-intensive and inclusive one that creates new opportunities for all Nigerians in accordance with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
