The popular Karu market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, was on Thursday gutted by fire while goods worth millions of naira were destroyed.
The devastating fire broke out at Karu Market around 7pm after traders had closed their stalls for the day.
Firefighters from Karu and Nyanya stations promptly responded to the emergency, rushing to the scene to extinguish the flames.
However, the firefighting efforts were temporarily hindered when the vehicles in Karu ran out of water, necessitating a call for backup to put out the inferno.
