Tinubu reassigns portfolios for ten cabinet members

President Bola Tinubu has reshuffled the portfolios of ten ministers in a bid to enhance the effectiveness of his administration.

The changes, announced on Wednesday through a statement by the President on the restructuring of ministers and ministerial portfolios, involve several ministers being moved to new roles across key sectors.

  1. Yusuf Tanko Sununu has been reassigned from Minister of State for Education to Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
  2. Morufu Olatunji Alausa, previously Minister of State for Health, is now the Minister of Education.
  3. Bello Muhammad Goronyo has moved from Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation to Minister of State for Works.
  4. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh has shifted from his position as Minister of Niger Delta Development to become the Minister of Regional Development.
  5. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, formerly Minister of State for Steel Development, now serves as Minister of State for Regional Development.
  6. Doris Uzoka-Anite, who was the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, has been appointed Minister of State for Finance.
  7. John Owan Enoh, previously the Minister of Sports Development, is now the Minister of State for Trade and Investment.
  8. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has transitioned from her role as Minister of State for Police Affairs to become the Minister of Women Affairs.
  9. Ayodele Olawande, formerly the Minister of State for Youth Development, is now the full Minister for Youth Development.
  10. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, who served as Minister of State for Environment, is now the Minister of State for Health.

President Tinubu thanked the outgoing members of the Federal Executive Council for their service to the nation and wished them well in their future endeavors.

He also charged the newly appointed ministers, as well as their reassigned colleagues, to see their appointments as a call to serve the nation.

He emphasized that all appointees must understand the administration’s determination to set Nigeria on the path to irreversible growth and urged them to invest their best efforts in actualizing the government’s priorities.
