The Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies (NAITES), has conferred an ‘Award of Excellence in Civil Engineering’ on the Tongyi Group, stating that the ‘company has performed excellently in Civil Engineering Construction in Nigeria.’
The award ceremony which was conferred at a seminar titled “Role of Civil Engineering in an Economy in Recession” held at General Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium, NAITES, Makurdi, at the weekend was an avenue for stakeholders to discuss opportunities of ending the recession through opportunities afforded by civil engineering.
The Deputy Rector, NAITES, Chief Kachi Ekulide said: “The honour is in recognition of your commitment to the ideas of NAITES department of Civil Engineering, and also to the Civil Engineering Profession within and outside the army institute,” adding that Tongyi must continue to exhibit the virtues that earned it the recognition.
The Project Manager, Tongyi Group, Mr Zheng Xiaohui who received the award on behalf of the company thanked NAITES for the recognition and assured that Tongyi will remain committed to the ideals of professionalism in engineering and construction.
According to Xiaohui, “every economy has its own challenges, despite the economic recession in Nigeria, Tongyi is still conscious of the need for quality service delivery, so we develop tailor-made strategies needed to respond to challenges confronting us in any nation we find ourselves,” he said, adding that because we do so, we are able to stay-on and carry out our businesses in peace.
Xiaohui further disclosed that the Tongyi Group will put in place strategies that will promote the economic and infrastructural development of Nigeria using Civil Engineering adding that the Tongyi group currently has about two thousand Nigerian staff on its payroll.
