Trailblazing in Mining: A Visual Journey Through WiM-Africa’s 2024

In 2024, Women in Mining Africa (WiM-Africa) continued its mission to empower women and transform mining communities across the continent. Through impactful engagements with global mining leaders and transformative initiatives in host communities, the organization achieved significant milestones. This photo book highlights WiM-Africa’s journey, showcasing the milestones reached, lives impacted, and the collective energy driving its mission forward.

A notable highlight of the year was the participation of WiM-Africa’s Executive Director, Dr. Comfort Asokoro-Ogaji, in a tour of Cornwall’s world-class mining facilities. Visits to lithium processing plants, geothermal energy sites, and advanced research labs offered unique insights into innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity. These experiences emphasized the importance of collaborative learning and the potential for knowledge transfer to enhance Africa’s mining industry.
