Truthng reports that he reportedly died after battling with an undisclosed ailment.
Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, known professionally as Olu Jacobs, was born on July 11, 1942, and 82 years at the time of his death.
A veteran Nigerian actor and film executive, Jacobs has appeared in numerous British television series and international films.
Hailed as one of the greatest and most widely respected African actors of his generation, he is often mentioned alongside Pete Edochie as one of the most influential African actors of all time.
Jacobs is revered as a cultural icon and is seen as a bridge between the older and newer generations of actors.
He is survived by his wife, Joke Sylva and their children.
