…focuses on trade, investment, ICT, and agriculture
Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Sweden for a two-day working visit aimed at enhancing trade and bilateral relations between Nigeria and Sweden.
The visit is part of the Nigerian government’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships across key sectors such as ICT, education, mining, and agriculture.
Accompanied by Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, and top officials from various government agencies, the Vice President’s delegation seeks to engage Swedish officials in high-level discussions. Among the key figures he is scheduled to meet are Crown Princess Victoria and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
According to a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), Shettima’s visit will focus on fostering collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly in digitalisation, sustainable transport, and agriculture, as well as exploring opportunities in the mining sector.
The visit, initiated on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reflects Nigeria’s continued push to expand its global trade footprint and attract foreign investment in critical sectors. Vice President Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria on Saturday following the completion of his engagements.
