Dear Sir
Re: LETTER OF CONDOLENCE OVER THE DEATH OF THE CHIEF
OF STAFF TO THE PRESIDENT ABBA KYARI.
On behalf of Women in Mining, Nigeria, we sincerely wish to commiserate with the entire government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and our Ministry, the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel under your dynamic leadership over the loss of our amiable Chief of staff and Gate Keeper Alhaji Abba Kyari.
It is shocking and saddening listening to the news of an illustrious citizen and aide to Mr. President. The Chief of Staff was a quintessential Public servant whose trajectory of life moulded him for inexorable service to his fatherland, his loyalty and doggedness to his beliefs distinguished him in all his assignments for a man who does not seek public adulation.
The loss of this illustrious son from Borno state who served Nigeria Military where he rose to the Second in Command of Nigerian Army’s Artillery is a blow whose impact on the country is indescribable at a time when the numerous problems confronting Nigeria needs his experience and wisdom.
We however take solace in Chuck Palahniuk in his famous quote which said “We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will”. It is not the length of life, but the depth of life that one lived that mattered. The Chief of staff, AIhaji Abba Kyari, a technocrat, bureaucrat and seasoned administrator was a force to be reckoned with in President Mohammadu Buhari’s government. We pray that God Almighty will grant the President, entire Cabinet and family the fortitude to bear the loss. Surely our sector will miss him because of the technicality surrounding the mining sector which the late Chief of Staff had mastered and even supported us in our campaign to support Mr. President in his re-election bid for second term in office.
We also use this opportunity to advise you to stay safe. We pray that the pandemic of COVID-19 shall be defeated.
Thank you and God bless you.
Yours Sincerely,
Hon Engr. Janet Adeyemi
President, Women in Mining Nigeria
