The Emir of Gusau, Zamfara state, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello has attributed social vises among youth to the failure of the political class to fulfill their campaign promises to the electorate
Speaking while receiving the Speaker, Zamfara House Assembly, Sanusi Garba Rikiji in his palace, the emir noted that the alarming increase of social vices especially among the youth is a result of failure of some leaders to fulfill their promises.
“Failure of political leaders to fulfill such campaign promises could be responsible for people to develop lukewarm attitudes in electoral processes,” he added.
The monarch therefore, called on people in the emirate to develop keen interest in the ongoing voter registration and voter collection. “Voter card is your weapon to elect right and credible people to lead you,” he said.
Earlier, Speaker Sanusi Garba Rikiji who is the chairman Zamfara state committee on the creation of awareness on the ongoing voter registration expressed concern over non collection of voters card by people in the state.
He solicited the support of religious and traditional rulers in the mobilisation of eligible voters to register and the collection of their card. The Speaker lamented that there were many of such cards that had remained unclaimed at the state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
