As the Coalition of development partners in health sector decried the state of health institutions in Zamfara State, the state executive council at its weekly meeting, approved the expansion of Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau.
Leader of the coalition, Dr. Yusuf Lawal had earlier told the Governor Abubakar Yari that health institutions were in a sorry state.
“Hospitals in the state have no qualified personnel and equipment such as blood bank,” he added.
Consequent upon this, Zamfara State Executive Council approved over N668 million for the construction of four wards of ninety-six bed capacities, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a Central Sterile Unit, an Operation Theatre and installation of Medical Oxygen Plant that will be connected to all patients’ beds in the hospital.
Governor Yari said “the work is to make the hospital serves as standard secondary health facility in the state.
